Top Investigators GTA
Open Message to Mainstream Media Journalists
Dear mainstream media journalists,
We are the top investigators in GTA recognized by Top Choice Awards Poll. Our well-known company
Investigation Hotline has been operating for more than 20 years, and the reputation of our experts is impeccable.
We had no idea that the modest demeanor of our colleague Mitchell Dubros, who rose to legendary status in the
field of investigative journalism, would suddenly find itself in the epicenter of your negative media space and
influence in 2022. These contentious articles were copied and widely disseminated by subsidiaries of reputable
media organizations in practically every province. Furthermore, media representatives shared them on social
media. Because of this, everyone seeking information about private investigators in the GTA made a value
judgment about this expert based on these articles without digging deeper, viewing the case papers, or considering
all of the circumstances.
We welcome press inquiries and stand ready to respond to all of your questions. At the same time, we want to call
your attention to a few conventions of professional journalism in developed nations. It is known as the “Canadian
Association of Journalists’ Ethical Guidelines” in our country. Accuracy, impartiality, privacy, conflicts of
interest, and the use of anonymous sources are only a few of the themes covered by the CAJ Ethics Standards in
relation to journalistic ethics. The standards are continuously reviewed and revised to consider changes in the
media environment and newly discovered ethical challenges.
We also want to point out that this is not the first time Toronto Star Chief Investigative Reporter Kevin Donovan
has demonstrated his unethical journalistic practices. When he wrote about another defendant in the criminal case,
asiametro.ca said that it was “a complete fabrication.” Also, asiametro.ca says: “For all those keeping scores at
home, if the two media figures do have a friendship, this means Donovan betrayed the simplest rule of ethical,
objective journalism; never get involved in a story if the subject is somebody you know.”

Also, we want you to pay attention to RTDNA. Professional organizations such as the Canadian Association of
Journalists (CAJ) and the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) have established codes of ethics
that encourage journalists to respect the schedules and privacy of their sources.
Any attempt to pressure or compel a source into producing a statement or answer quickly or to catch them off
guard by calling for comment outside of usual business hours or 30 minutes or fewer before the deadline may be
regarded as a journalistic ethical violation. Because the source is not given enough time to respond thoughtfully
and completely, these methods can potentially undermine the reporting’s integrity and fairness.
We would greatly appreciate it if the authors of unethical articles about our colleague Mitchell Dubros, which are
misleading a large audience would retract their articles and, as a result, they would be removed.
Over the years, many vast clients have benefited from our organization. Numerous people got assistance without
charge. We can confidently claim that no one is exempt from difficulties because we have been in this industry for
over 20 years. Who would support you when things go wrong if you discredit the experts in our field?
We anticipate engaging in a professional conversation with the media and working together.
We’re always prepared to set up a press conference and provide information and supporting documentation.
